The Best of Shelley Fabares Ripped with dBpoweramp at 320 Shelley Fabares never planned to be a singer, but in 1958, while cast as Mary Stone on The Donna Reed Show, the producers wanted to take advantage of the youth market by having her cut a demo record with TV brother Paul Petersen. When Colpix's New York head Paul Wexler heard the demos he said they were the worst he'd ever heard and flat refused to waste any money on the duo. Tony Owen, Donna Reed's husband and producer of the show, put up the money himself to produce Shelly Fabares's first recordings. "Johnny Angel" went straight to #21 in 1962 and follow-up "Johnny Loves Me" made #21 in the same year. Track List: 1. Johnny Angel 2. What Did They Do Before Rock & Roll 3. Johnny Loves Me 4. I'm Growing Up 5. Welcome Home 6. Big Star 7. The Things We Did Last Summer 8. I Left a Note to Say Goodbye 9. Telephone (Won't You Ring) 10. Billy Boy 11. Ronnie, Call Me When you Get a Chance 12. How Lovely To Be a Woman 13. Bye Bye Birdie 14. Football Seasons Over 15. He Don't Love Me 16. I Know You'll Be There 17. Lost Summer Love 18. Pretty Please Enjoy!
